Our story
The German for Business Network UK was born out of a shared passion for making Business German accessible to learners at all levels. In 2023, Zhanna, Christiane, and Laura were commissioned by the Goethe-Institut London to adapt the Enterprise German Competition teaching materials for UK schools and universities, specifically tailoring them for A1 and A2+ learners. During this collaboration, they also developed a series of innovative "U-Häppchen" (Business German worksheets), designed to make the language of business approachable for various levels.
Christiane and Zhanna have successfully integrated these materials into their own teaching, and in May 2024, they presented their methods at the annual DAAD conference, where they officially launched the German for Business Network UK. What began as a small initiative has since grown, as more colleagues from higher education institutions across the UK have joined and will be joining the network.
